Tracks
Set optional per-track scheduling hints — talk length, max parallel sessions, and preferred rooms — that the session planner uses when placing that track's sessions.
Purpose
The Tracks sub-tab lets you attach scheduling hints to each of your program's tracks. The tracks themselves come from each program's track list (set in Program settings) — this panel doesn't create tracks, it adds metadata the planner can use:
- Oral / poster duration — how long a talk in this track runs (minutes).
- Max parallel sessions — the most of this track's sessions allowed to run at the same time (blank = no limit).
- Preferred rooms — the venue rooms this track should be placed in first.
All hints are optional — leave them blank and the planner falls back to its normal tier-based behavior.
When you use it
Use it in the Prepare phase, after you've added your Venue & Rooms (the preferred-rooms picker lists those rooms). Set hints for any track whose scheduling you want to steer; skip the rest.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Conference Leadership Console, select your conference, open the Presentation System tab, and click the Tracks sub-tab.
- 2
Each program's tracks are listed with a colored dot. For a track, set its oral / poster duration and a max parallel sessions cap if you want one.
- 3
Under Preferred rooms, click the rooms this track should prefer (they come from Venue & Rooms). Click again to deselect.
- 4
Click Save on that track. Repeat for any other tracks you want to steer.
Nothing here is required. With no hints set, the planner schedules by room tier as usual. Hints just nudge it — prefer these rooms, use this talk length, don't run more than N of this track at once.
Tips
- Add your rooms first (Venue & Rooms) so the preferred-rooms picker has something to choose from.
- The track list is edited in Program settings; this panel only sets the scheduling metadata on top of it.
- Per-talk timing (individual talks of different lengths) is set later when you build a session — the oral duration here is just the planning default.
