Attendee experience
How attendees explore a conference on AirBalloon — the public conference pages, the portal, and where each task lives.
There is no single "attendee console" on AirBalloon. Everything you do as an attendee lives on the conference's own public pages, so most of these views are visible whether or not you're signed in.
Purpose
This page maps the attendee experience so you know where to go for each task — browsing the schedule, building a personal agenda, registering, submitting work, reading announcements, and searching the program.
When you use it
Use it as your starting point once you've found a conference. Two front doors lead into everything else:
- The conference home page (
/c/<id>) — the public landing page with the hero, "Conference at a glance" phase cards, Important Dates, and any Calls & Announcements the organizers chose to feature. - The conference portal (
/portal/<id>) — a compact dashboard with the conference hero, latest announcements, conference-level Important Dates, and four quick actions: Submit Paper, Register, View CFPs, and Schedule & Sessions.
Walkthrough
- 1
Find your conference from All Conferences, then open either its home page or its portal.
- 2
Open the Schedule to browse the full program in Day, Week, or List view, with a timezone selector and a program-kind filter.
- 3
Save talks you care about to build your My Agenda — your personal, favorited subset of the schedule.
- 4
Use Search to find sessions, presentations, posters & demos, and speakers, then open a session or presentation page for full detail (video, slides, poster, abstract, comments).
- 5
Register to attend and Submit your own work from the portal's quick actions — both guide you to sign in if you aren't already.
- 6
Check Announcements for the latest organizer updates.
Tips
Browsing is public, but personal features — saving talks to My Agenda, voting, and commenting — need you signed in. Some announcements are only shown to registered attendees or authors once you're signed in.
The Schedule, Sessions, and presentation pages only appear when the organizers have turned on the Presentation System. Registration and submission only work once organizers have set up registration and programs. If something isn't ready, you'll see a friendly "check back later" message.
