Reviews & Meta

Track review progress for every paper you touch and open each one to read the reviews and write your meta-review.

Last updated: 2026-06-28

Purpose

The Reviews & Meta tab is the worklist for the papers you handle. Each row shows whether you are the paper's AC or one of its Reviewers, how many reviews are in (out of three), the current phase, and a button to open the paper. For your AC papers this is where you head once reviews are in to write the meta-review. The tab badge counts the meta-reviews you still owe.

When you use it

  • To see which papers have all their reviews and are ready for a meta-review.
  • To write or finish your meta-reviews.
  • To check on your own pending reviews for papers where you are a reviewer.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Open the Area Chair Console, select your program, and click Reviews & Meta.

  2. 2

Scan the table. The Role column marks each paper AC (you owe a meta-review) or Reviewer (you owe a regular review). The Reviews column shows completed reviews out of three, and Status shows the phase — for example Reviewing, Ready for Meta Review, or Complete.

  3. 3

Use the search box and the status filter (All / Complete / Incomplete / Pending Approval) to narrow the list, and the pagination controls at the bottom to page through large lists.

  4. 4

Click View on a paper to open it, read the submitted reviews, and write or submit your meta-review (for AC papers) or your review (for reviewer papers).

Tips

Wait for the reviews before the meta-review

A paper is marked Ready for Meta Review once it has three submitted reviews. Writing your meta-review then means you are summarizing a complete set rather than a partial picture.

One program, two hats

You may appear as the AC on some rows and a Reviewer on others in the same program. The question-mark help icon in the tab header explains the two roles — AC rows need a meta-review with your recommendation, Reviewer rows need a regular review.
